Styled: Paint it Black

Any creative person will tell you how important it is to take the time to create something amazing. Sure, when we work for a client, we are creating. We are creating something special for them; the perfect hair and makeup for them. That’s our job.

But every once in a while, we need to let the lion out of the cage and create something for ourselves. It gives is the opportunity to sharpen our skills, and smooth the edges all at the same time. Legitimately, we go into a zone. We don’t really speak, except for the occasional “YAASSSSSS.” But that’s all you’re going to get. We don’t even really talk to each other. We crank the tunes and create. When we’re done, we finally come up for air and the trance is over.

It’s beautiful. It’s magic. It feeds our soul.

So any time we are given the gracious opportunity to create beauty in a collaborative way, we jump at the chance. So when Lauren of LC Events reached out to us with a gorgeous concept, we couldn’t say no. She said, “the theme is Paint it Black, I’m a huge Rolling Stones fan!”
